Brezo Art Design

Hello, I am Erika Catalan, the founding artist of the creative brand Brezo Art Design. I am an illustrator and surface pattern designer from Madrid, Spain. I began my creative career illustrating children’s books and stationery for publishers. In addition, the people closest to me asked me for many print designs for children’s clothing and so I gradually specialized in surface pattern design. I was so captivated by it that I created the Brezo Art Design brand, for illustration and print design. Now I am happier than I could have imagined, working from my studio for all kinds of clients around the world and creating art every day with captivating stories, to apply to any product and impact people’s daily well-being by improving their mood. My work is joyful and serene, with a very characteristic palette of soft and harmonious colors, generally warm earth tones and pastels or bright colors in children’s and floral designs. I do most of my work drawing and painting by hand, either traditionally with watercolors, acrylics, gouaches… or digitally and I love combining it with textures. I am inspired by my surroundings, my beautiful family, my travels, people’s lives, nature and childhood. I love walking around taking pictures of flowers, leaves, animals and textures, which are almost always reflected in my work, helped by my children, who almost always help me and discover new ways of looking at the world. In addition, I am surrounded by a wonderful community of amazing artists, who support and push each other and happy clients, which is very satisfying.
