Sweet As April

Hi Everyone! I’m Carrie, and I couldn’t be happier that you found your way to my little corner of the internet, which I like to call my “surface pattern home.” I’m a proud mom of three amazing kids, and it was my first child arriving in April 2013 that inspired me to start my business, Sweet As April. There’s honestly nothing sweeter than holding your newborn for the first time, and that moment has influenced everything I do.
I got started making bonnets for my daughter using mostly vintage, upcycled, and donated materials. For the last seven years, we’ve turned these unique pieces with their own stories into something special. But back in March 2024, we decided to rebrand a bit and let my artistic vision truly shine. That’s when we launched my own line of fabric patterns to be printed for our bonnets. Since then, I’ve been pouring my creativity into crafting fun, colorful designs that our awesome followers have always wanted—think bursts of color and a playful vibe!
While learning all I could about painting in 2024, I discovered a real passion for surface pattern design. It’s a field that gets my creative juices flowing. I have a bunch of hobbies, like crochet, hiking, graphic design, and interior design, and they’ve all woven together to shape my artistic journey. But it’s creating whimsical patterns inspired by nature that really brings me joy. I’m so excited to share this passion with all of you here with Little Cocalico!
